The Las Rozas City Council has invested a total of 475,269.34 euros (VAT included) in a comprehensive renovation of Maestro Serrano Street and its intersection with Martín Iriarte Street in the Las Matas neighborhood. This initiative is part of the municipal project to bury and eliminate all aerial cables in the city, improving the accessibility and quality of life for residents. Las Rozas Mayor, José de la Uz, accompanied by Infrastructure Councilor, José Cabrera, and North District Councilor, Mónica Paraíso, visited the works this morning, which will continue until June.
“Burying aerial cables is a priority for this Government team and a commitment we made to the residents. These projects not only improve the accessibility and safety of our streets but also contribute to the visual cleanliness of the city. We continue to progress towards a more modern, accessible, and clean future, which involves eliminating all aerial wiring from our streets,” stated De la Uz.
The project includes burying 1,554 meters of aerial lines, related to telecommunications and low voltage, resulting in the removal of 37 poles that supported the mentioned aerial cables in the area. Additionally, improvements will be made to the sidewalks, enhancing the accessibility of a total of 1,309 square meters, and resurfacing the roads over a total of 3,922 square meters. Finally, new conduits have been installed to support the underground infrastructure along 1,633 meters of the street.
Actions in private residences
Moreover, it is worth noting that this burying project includes work on 61 private residences, where the burial of cable connections to the properties has been carried out, thus helping to eliminate the aerial cables that affected the aesthetics and functionality of the surroundings.
This work is part of an ambitious plan by the Las Rozas City Council to bury aerial cables throughout the municipality, a comprehensive project that contributes to making the urban environment safer, more accessible, and aesthetically pleasing. The intervention on Maestro Serrano and Martín Iriarte streets is one of the many improvements being made in various parts of the city, with the aim of modernizing and transforming Las Rozas.
