Cien atletas desafían los 1.000 escalones en la Carrera Vertical de Madrid

A hundred athletes participated this Sunday in the Vertical Race of the Eurostars Tower hotel, where David Robles Tapia and Virginia López Gallardo were the fastest to climb 50 floors and over a thousand steps of one of Madrid’s most emblematic buildings due to its height.

David Robles Tapia reached the top of the hotel in a time of 6:39, just one second more than the 6:38 still held as the best mark by athlete Chema Martínez.

Running up the 50 floors of a skyscraper: this is the Vertical Race Eurostars Madrid Tower

The Vertical Race of the Eurostars Madrid Tower was born in 2019 as one of the initiatives to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the opening of the iconic hotel.

Each runner starts individually, every 60 seconds, according to a pre-established order by the organization. This dynamic ensures both the safety and fluidity of the event, which has no time limit to complete, allowing each participant to measure themselves at their own pace.
