El plan de soterramiento de cables avanza en Las Rozas con más de 16 km retirados

Soterramiento de cables

The Las Rozas City Council continues with its plan to bury the wiring and has already removed more than 16 kilometers of overhead lines and 318 poles as part of an action that aims to eliminate 60 percent of the projected aerial infrastructure in the municipality before the end of the year.

The project involves working on over 41,000 meters of overhead lines, of which around 24,800 will be buried before the end of the year in an action that, to date, has received a financial injection of over 6.7 million euros in various interventions that also include urban improvements such as the renovation of 21,700 square meters of sidewalks, the installation of over 26 kilometers of underground conduits, and over a thousand connections in homes and private properties.

The Mayor of Las Rozas, José de la Uz, recently visited the works being carried out in San José del Pedrosillo Street, accompanied by the Councilor for Infrastructure, José Cabrera, and the Councilor of the North District, Mónica Paraíso.

In this 1,250-meter-long street, work is being done with an investment close to 1.2 million euros, as highlighted by the city council in a statement.

«This Burying Plan is a very ambitious project that we started several years ago and requires a significant financial and planning effort. But we will continue to work on removing all those cables from our skies and poles from our sidewalks, as we promised to the residents,» stated De la Uz.

For the development of this plan, the city council has signed several collaboration agreements with Telefónica and Iberdrola, responsible for most of the lines being removed since 2019. Additionally, it takes on the cost of the necessary electrical and telecommunications connections in the affected households, adding complexity and economic burden to the project.
