San Sebastián de los Reyes revela su dulce emblema gastronómico

San Sebastián de los Reyes officially presented the emblematic sweets during the final ceremony of the competition «San Sebastián Arrow». This dessert has now become the gastronomic symbol of the municipality, intended to be recognized and enjoyed by residents and visitors in future festivities.

The event was organized by the local council in collaboration with the Business Association of Acenoma, with the participation of nine local units and entities. This aims to become a representative sweet of the city.

Starting on January 17th, residents and tourists had the opportunity to taste the different proposals on offer, culminating in the selection of the winner.

Finally, the prize was awarded to Emilita, a 19-year-old located on Calle José Hierro, receiving a prize of 1,000 euros and the responsibility of disclosing the winning recipe, officially registered as a typical sweet of the municipality. From now on, any local bakery can prepare and sell this delicious dessert.

«The best prize is to have the pride of representing this city with this dessert that has opened our hearts and will last in history. I have no words,» said Fernando, the creator of this winning sweet.

This sweet was called «the arrow of San Sebastián» because it was this element, the arrow, in the iconography of the artistic representations of the patron saint, San Sebastián Mártir.

With this initiative, San Sebastián de los Reyes seeks not only to strengthen its cultural identity but also to stimulate local commerce, turning this sweet into a new attraction for both residents and visitors to the city.
