Trabajos en Getafe causan cortes de tráfico y descuentos en transporte

Getafe Getafe could be facing a «black» day for traffic disruptions for months. Works in different parts of the city, including one of the central axes of the center, will cause temporary cutbacks and redirect traffic in two areas of the municipality.

The local council announced the closure of a Bridge located on Toledo Highway (A-42) in one direction. The closure is a result of the works being carried out by Canal Isabel II in the area, which have been ongoing since last October.

More specifically, the Closure of this bridge will connect two residential neighborhoods in Getafe, heading towards Bercial on Terradas and Ramón Rubial streets, while the lane in the direction of Bercial will remain open.

These works are already causing traffic jams in the area, especially on roads like Terradas and Torroja with Paseo de Estación during peak hours. To minimize inconvenience for residents in the area, access to affected garages has been activated, with entry from Ramón Rubial Street towards Paseo de Estación.

Dismantling of a crane

The Mobility department has scheduled discounts in the city center on February 10 and 11, from 8:00 to 20:00, affecting four bus lines due to the dismantling of a construction crane.

The crane is located on a private building on Magdalena-Manzana streets, between Marqués and Cruz streets, impacting vehicular traffic.

During the Traffic reduction in the affected section, buses will stop at Magdalena and Manzana streets, while other traffic will be diverted through Ricardo, Vega, and Marqués streets. The Municipal Council has warned drivers that vehicles diverted along Ricardo Street from Vega will enter a low-emission zone.

The Affected bus lines are circular l -3b, 441 Madrid (plaza elíptica) – Getafe (sector III – Paseo Juan José Rosón) (Sense Madrid), 448 Madrid (Legzzpi) – Getafe (de Villaverde) (Sense Madrid), and 450 Getafe – Leganés – Alcorcón (towards Getafe). Temporarily suspended bus stops are located at the intersection of Arbdalena Street and Magdalena Square.
