Premiados en la 37ª edición del Concurso de Fotografía Jesús y Adán
The 37th edition of the Jesus and Adan Photography Contest, organized by the Las Rozas City Council through the Youth Department, has announced its winners. The Jury’s decision was revealed yesterday, awarding the prize for the three best photographs by the same author to Ander Villar for his works «A Soul in Prayer,» «The King’s Gaze,» and «Echoes of a Forgotten Bandoneon,» in a category with a prize of 500 euros. The award for the best photo went to Pol García for his image «The Solitude of the Guardhouse (The Streets of Istanbul),» which received 400 euros. The recognition for the best photograph submitted by a local author, with a prize of 300 euros, was given to Alejandra Aguado for «Mediterranean.» Lastly, the prize for the best photo by an author between 14 and 16 years old, with a prize of 200 euros, went to «Adam and the Snake» by Héctor Fernández de las Heras.
The winners received their awards from the Councilor for Education and Culture, Gloria Fernández, during an event held yesterday at the Perez de la Riva Cultural Center. The exhibition of the contest, featuring the winning works and a selection of submissions, will be open until April 3rd in the J.M. Díaz Caneja Room at the Perez de la Riva Cultural Center.
This edition of the longstanding contest, aimed at non-professional young photographers between 14 and 30 years old, saw a total of 29 participants, 21 of them from Las Rozas, submitting 85 photographs of various techniques and themes.
The Jesus and Adan Photography Contest has been held in Las Rozas for 37 years in honor of two young residents, Jesús Gómez and Adán Nieto, who tragically passed away while seeking images to capture with their cameras.
