Detallan inversión de más de 230 millones en Valdemoro para mejorar servicios públicos
Díaz Ayuso has emphasized the need for the regional government to continue fulfilling the programs for which it was elected, «governing for all, creating the conditions of freedom and legal security so that those who create jobs can continue to do so,» and thus, «prosper and have resources to effectively fund and manage public services.»
Firstly, she highlighted that in Valdemoro, among other investments, a «very important one in housing» will be carried out for the construction of nearly 500 new affordable rental apartments in the city. In this regard, she announced that the Government Council has authorized today the bidding of two promotions by the Social Housing Agency with an execution period of 30 and 26 months. The Community of Madrid will invest 58 million in building 279 homes in Valdemoro for vulnerable families with a rent not exceeding 250 euros.
It will also build 150 homes from the Vive-Solución Joven Plan at number 6 Agustina de Aragón Street. The transfer of the ownership of the plot destined for its construction, totaling 19,700 square meters, has already been approved (it is in the public information period). They are part of the 4,500 affordable rental homes exclusively for under 35s.
Likewise, the construction of 2 promotions, totaling 39 homes, of Public Protection for Lease (VPPA), with commercial premises and garages, with an investment of 8.4 million euros is planned. These promotions are 85% financed by the Community of Madrid. The execution period is scheduled for 26 months. They are currently in the bidding phase.
The regional president also highlighted that the Community of Madrid will allocate 12 million euros to build a new public high school in the El Hospital neighborhood in the northwest of the municipality. In addition, work has already begun on the expansion of the IES Neil Armstrong, with a budget of 1.1 million euros. These works will add six new classrooms, totaling 180 more public educational places to its offering.
On the other hand, it is planned that next year the expansion works of the Virgen del Rosario public school will be carried out to accommodate new classrooms and allow the center to offer more ESO courses, with a cost of 3.7 million. In 2023, the municipality inaugurated a new public Special Education center, the Duque de Ahumada, with an investment of 6.3 million.
Payment of the single bus ticket
In terms of transportation, Valdemoro will be the first municipality where it will be possible to pay with a bank card, starting next week, for the single ticket on the intercity bus route 424 that covers Madrid-Valdemoro (El Restón). By the end of the month, the incorporation of the 422 Madrid-Valdemoro line is estimated.
At the same time, the Community of Madrid contributed 10.7 million in 2024 to the service of the 18 lines that annually cover more than three million kilometers to guarantee the displacements of the citizens residing in this locality. Similarly, actions have been taken in terms of road safety and road conservation to improve the connection of the M-404 with the A-4 and the bike lane of the M-404.
In freight transport, the Community of Madrid is collaborating with the Valdemoro City Council in the Ergón A4 Project, of great magnitude, for the construction of the first private intermodal logistics park (road and rail) in the region.
Third health center by the end of 2026
In terms of public health, the regional government has carried out improvement works at the El Restón and Valdemoro health centers for over 850,000 euros. Likewise, the construction of a third health center in this municipality has just begun, which will be operational by the end of 2026 and has an investment of 2.6 million euros.
Valdemoro has the Infanta Elena public hospital, which has just incorporated robotic surgery, with its first intervention this same week. In addition, next week it will launch the Healthy Eating Plan for hospitalized patients (later it will be extended to the cafeteria, for the public and staff). The area has already grown by 4,000 citizens and plans are being made to expand the grounds for parking.
On the other hand, with a endowment of 2 million from the Regional Investment Program (PIR), the paving of the municipality’s streets will be improved and the tracks of the Ronda del Prado sports center will be rehabilitated. Among other actions, the rehabilitation of the facade of the Ana María Matute Municipal Library also stands out.
These investments are complemented by 16.8 million for the new Valdemoro Courthouse that brings together the two existing headquarters in the municipality. Since its launch in May 2023, this building houses eight first instance and instructional courts, a guard court, and sufficient reserved space to accommodate up to five more courts, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Bar Association, Procurators, mediation, forensics, deanship, and Gesell Chamber. It covers eight neighboring localities and serves more than 154,000 people.
Cleaning works in natural areas
In the Environment sector, during 2024 the Community of Madrid carried out cleaning works in the Los Blancares area. This same action will be carried out in 2025 in the area called Los Huertecillos thanks to an allocation of 3 million euros. In addition, in this legislature, 718,000 euros will be invested in grants for SMEs and large companies in the industrial sector to improve technology in industrial equipment and processes.
In the agri-food sector, between 2019 and 2024, aids of one million euros have stood out for the modernization of agricultural holdings, environmental programs, agri-food industries, animal protection, sheep and goat farming, COVID and mountain areas, as well as a subsidy for the acquisition of a slurry spreader for dairy cattle farming.
In Emergencies, the Valdemoro Fire Station has an investment of nearly 65,000 euros for maintenance activities; over 465,000 to provide new technical means to this center; and 1.1 million for the purchase of clothing and equipment, supply of intervention vehicles and bodywork.
Likewise, the construction of the Local Office of Forest Rangers of San Martín de la Vega, attached to Valdemoro, with a value of 1.9 million euros is contemplated. In terms of Security, 1.2 million will be invested, including in the Local Police Support Program. Finally, through the public company Canal de Isabell II, actions have been undertaken for the renovation of the Sanitation Network of Cuesta Valderrama and the streets Menorca and Ibiza, worth 1.8 million. Additionally, this month the renovation works of the Canal Sanea sewage network will begin, which will have an investment of almost 2 million euros.
Since 2019, the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Employment has invested more than 13.6 million in employment, training, industry, and commerce in Valdemoro. For the year 2025, the lines of aid remain open, which unemployed, self-employed, and companies in the locality can access.
Regarding employment, almost 2 million have been invested by the Community of Madrid in various programs to promote it in priority groups, such as the long-term unemployed and those over 30 years old. With an investment of 5.7 million, self-employed workers have been assisted in matters such as the Zero Rate and the former Flat Rate, which have helped 379 self-employed individuals from Valdemoro to date. Also, over 4.2 million have been invested in the training of the unemployed and training actions for employed workers.
New places in residences and day centers
The regional government reinforces its social commitment to Valdemoro, exceeding 17 million in investment. Specifically, 11 million euros to finance nearly 600 places in residences and Day Centers. Additionally, another 4 million will be allocated to economic benefits linked to the family care service and personal assistance, benefiting nearly 1,000 people from Valdemoro. Likewise, to strengthen the care network for people with disabilities, there are 1.3 million to serve a total of 160 people.
In 2025, the agreement signed with the Valdemoro City Council covering essential services such as basic benefits, comprehensive protection of childhood and adolescence against violence, support for families, and attention to child poverty will be extended, amounting to 1.1 million euros. As for Early Attention, the creation of 96 places for ages 0 to 6 years stands out.
Regarding women, a new financial injection of 200,000 euros is expected to continue efforts to eradicate violence against them; and this year, leisure and socio-cultural animation activities for young people are planned to offer healthy leisure alternatives, promote social integration and volunteering, benefiting over 600 participants.
In terms of Culture, Tourism, and Sports, investments from the Community of Madrid have allowed the restoration of the facades and roof of the Casa de Capellanes of the Monastery of the Clarisas in the locality, with over 107,000 euros, as well as the restoration of the Fuente de la Villa, with over 53,700, completed last year. Additionally, the integral restoration of the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción is planned for a value of 400,000 euros.
As in previous years, the regional government will once again extend the celebration of the Dos de Mayo festivities to Valdemoro. Furthermore, the Community of Madrid’s Theater Network will continue to bring its offerings to the residents with an allocation of around 50,000 euros. Through Madrid Región Activa, the City Council offers the Valdemoro moves program to combat sedentary lifestyle and associated diseases, consisting of a Physical Activity service, with an endowment of 31,500 euros. Additionally, two active points have been funded in recent years with nearly 150,000 euros.
Finally, in terms of Digitalization, a total of 70,700 euros is planned to be invested in 2025 in ten educational centers in the locality as part of the Connected Schools II program, which provides broadband internet connection or wifi to all classrooms. Additionally, technological equipment such as desktop or laptop computers have been renewed for both students and teachers. Last year, 84,800 euros were allocated within this initiative, benefiting eight educational centers.
In the judicial field, 165,800 euros have been invested in the digitalization of its infrastructures. Specifically, this amount has been used for the modernization of courtrooms and for voice recognition licenses. It also includes over 10,600 euros to improve technological equipment and infrastructures in healthcare.
