Díaz Ayuso inaugura exposición sobre la Patrulla Águila
The head of the regional government has highlighted that the Armed Forces are an elite, supportive body at the forefront of the best in the world, made up of men and women who «put their lives before others’ and have chosen a single path: to serve Spain and its flag.»
«It is a true honor and a great pride to host this exhibition at this Real Casa de Correos. We want it to reach all citizens not only in Madrid, but also to those who visit us and with their joy and enthusiasm fill all our streets with vitality,» added the president regarding the exhibition, which can be visited for free until June 30.
Díaz Ayuso highlighted today that the Patrulla Águila has accumulated over 30,000 flight hours, participating in more than 500 air shows -170 abroad-, with over 100 pilots passing through, some of whom lost their lives in air accidents, such as the case of commanders Francisco Marín Núñez and Eduardo Fermín Garvalena.
Emblem of military aviation
Alongside the Chief of Staff of the Air and Space Army, Francisco Braco, Díaz Ayuso presented this tribute to a team that is emblematic of military aviation and that, over these four decades, has been characterized by the preparation, safety, and discipline of all its pilots and mechanics.
The exhibition, curated by Paloma Escrigas and Pedro Solbes, brings together photographs, paintings, videos, objects, flight equipment, and models of the Patrulla Águila, to convey to citizens, especially young people, knowledge about the history, technique, and culture of the Air Force, as a school of values such as precision, the spirit of improvement, and national pride.
Similarly, the exhibition contains images of the spectacular maneuvers they perform alongside acrobatic teams from other countries and will allow visitors to enjoy a complete flight experience through augmented reality glasses.
In addition, Díaz Ayuso recalled the special connection that the Patrulla Águila has with Madrid by regularly participating in events of great importance for the region such as the National Day or May 2, the festival of the Community of Madrid, among others.
