El Ayuntamiento incrementará la seguridad en piscinas de Usera para fomentar la convivencia intercultural
The Madrid City Council will provide «support to security assistants» at the municipal pools of San Fermín and Orcasitas, in the Usera district, this summer to «promote better coexistence» among the different sociocultural groups that converge in the facilities.
According to the service tender contract, which is currently open for offers, the aim is to «equip the outdoor pools of the Orcasitas and San Fermín Municipal Sports Centers with an information service, public assistance, and access control, with the purpose of promoting the best coexistence among the various sociocultural groups that use these public facilities.»

The City Council aims for this service to operate «both within the interior of the pools and at the entrance and its ticket offices,» ensuring that the workers possess «the necessary personal skills and resources to enhance communication with the public and prevent conflicts and coexistence incidents, thus serving as a reinforcement of the measures taken to guarantee safety at these facilities.»
In this regard, the municipal administration in the Usera district specified to Servimedia that it is «support for security assistants to ensure smooth operation at these centers,» as they are places enjoyed by «numerous users where different cultures converge.»
Additionally, it will seek to «provide the necessary attention and information for better and more appropriate use» of the pools and «ensure compliance with the specific regulations of the centers during the summer period.» The service is expected to start in June and extend throughout the summer season of 2026 with an estimated cost of 100,000 euros for the City Council.
The Madrid City Council justified in the tender memorandum that it «does not have specific means of its own to carry out these activities of public interest,» making it «essential» to have an «external company qualified with guaranteed and accredited experience in providing these services.»
