El primer partido de la NFL en España se celebrará en Madrid el 16 de noviembre.
Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the President of the Community of Madrid, has stated that «with the celebration of the first NFL game in Spain at the best sports stadium in the world, Madrid solidifies its position as the best place for hosting major international sporting events, which will be joined in 2026 by the debut of the new Formula 1 Grand Prix.»
«Madrid is currently the trendiest region in the world. A vibrant, dynamic, open region where everyone wants to come. We have the best cultural, gastronomic, heritage, and leisure offerings available today,» added Díaz Ayuso.
This year, the NFL international calendar will conclude in Madrid with a match between the Miami Dolphins and the Washington Commanders, joining other European venues for the season such as Dublin (Ireland), London (United Kingdom), and Berlin (Germany).
The regional government is sponsoring this sports event with 1.5 million euros to strengthen the region’s strategic position for hosting major sporting events and to promote its wide range of tourism offerings. Additionally, it will complement other actions taken by the regional government to reinforce Madrid as a destination of choice for travelers from Florida, such as the Regional Memorandum of Understanding between the regions of Miami and Madrid.
