Entrega de los XXV Premios Educación Vial en Las Rozas
The mayor of Las Rozas, José de la Uz, presented the XXV Road Safety Education Awards for the 2024/25 academic year on June 5th. He was accompanied by the councilor for Security and Emergencies, David Santos, and the commissioner of the Local Police, Manuel López.
The awards ceremony took place at the Municipal Road Safety Education Center, with the participation of 50 children who had achieved the best results in the tests conducted by the tutor agents after the road safety training sessions in their classes.
The project, which involves around 1,200 5th grade students from the 22 public, private, and charter schools in the municipality, is divided into two phases. The first phase is theoretical, where Local Police agents visit the schools to provide theoretical classes to the students, either as pedestrians, passengers, or bicycle riders, with an average of 25-30 students (one classroom) and a duration of approximately 3 hours. The second phase is practical and takes place at the Las Rozas Municipal Road Safety Education Center, involving 6th grade students.
De la Uz expressed gratitude for the years of work done by the Local Police and emphasized that «the foundation of road safety, just like coexistence, is respect for others, and thanks to these courses and the work carried out in educational centers, Las Rozas will continue to be a safe place to live.»
