After several hours of delays, normality has been restored around 8:00 p.m. in the railway connection between Andalucía and Madrid after a technical incident on an Ave earlier today that caused delays in up to nine Long-Distance and High-Speed trains operated by Renfe.

A single train departing from Sevilla station is experiencing significant delays, with updated information showing a 50-minute delay at 8:00 p.m. It is an Ave train that was supposed to depart from Santa Justa at 5:46 p.m. with an expected arrival time of 8:40 p.m.

A technical incident on a Madrid-Sevilla Ave, departing at noon, has caused delays on Sunday for the journey of seven other Long-Distance and High-Speed trains operated by Renfe traveling between Madrid and Andalucía.

Sources from the public company mentioned to Europa Press that trains closest to the affected vehicle, which was stopped at 12:30 between La Sagra and Mora, experienced the greatest delay, while others accumulated between 15 and 20 minutes of delay. With the incident resolved, they emphasize that the situation will gradually return to normal.

The first train, departing at noon from Madrid and arriving at Santa Justa at 2:44 p.m., completed its journey more than 153 minutes later than scheduled.

The other affected vehicles include: an Alvia departing from Madrid at 12:05 and arriving in Cádiz at 4:41 p.m.; an Ave departing from Madrid at 1:00 p.m. and arriving at Santa Justa at 3:43 p.m.; an Avant departing from Madrid at 1:10 p.m. and reaching Puertollano at 2:32 p.m.; an Ave from Madrid (1:35 p.m.) – Granada (4:52 p.m.); an Ave from Madrid (2:00 p.m.) – Sevilla (4:43 p.m.); an Ave from Madrid (2:35 p.m.) – Málaga (5:26 p.m.); and an Ave from Sevilla (3:34 p.m.) to Madrid (6:13 p.m.), which finally departed at 4:57 p.m.

The effect of the delay caused by this incident has been the large number of people crowding the Santa Justa station in Sevilla during the evening.

The spokesperson for the PP in the Andalusian Parliament, Toni Martín, has denounced this situation on his ‘X’ profile and directly pointed to the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente: «Let’s see who you blame today, @oscar_puente_. It’s not sabotage, it’s incompetence: yours, Sánchez’s, and Montero’s, who doesn’t even dare to step on the streets of Andalucía where people can confront her.»
