Lorena Medina, who works as a waitress at La Taberna II de Alcorcón, has become the winner of the Beer Pouring Championship held at the Salón Gourmets event. In this competition, Branduse Emanuel Ionut from Mesón Casa Juan in Arganda del Rey secured the second position.

Medina and Ionut have emerged as the top beer pourers in Spain in this competition that took place on the first day of the Salón Gourmets fair. Meanwhile, chef Manuel Andrés Pérez from Bediako Batzoki Berria in Vizcaya was crowned this Monday as the Best Gourmet Burger Chef in Spain at the ‘Burger Combat’ competition, where he competed against five other finalists from across the country.

Additionally, on the first day of the gastronomic fair, the jamón cutting contest featuring Dehesa de Extremadura took place, with Josué Falcón emerging as the winner. Falcón, a jamón cutter from the Canary Islands, also received the creativity award.

The 6 finalists, selected from 109 competitors, had an hour and a half to carve a 7-kilo ham and present dishes with slices from the maza, babilla, and punta, three parts of a ham that pose different challenges when cutting.
