La Policía de Torrejón captura a tres individuos por robo con fuerza

The Torrejón de Ardoz City Council has reported that, over the past few months, the Local Police have arrested three individuals accused of street robbery and prevented two more in homes, as well as assisting an elderly person on the street.

A resident of the town alerted the Police that they were hearing noises in a home under construction where the owners were absent.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers found a forced lock but no one inside, as the alleged thieves had fled upon noticing the police presence.

In another recent police intervention, two off-duty officers prevented the robbery of an elderly person by observing three individuals acting suspiciously towards a lady and attempting to steal her wallet through distraction.

One of the suspects had an outstanding judicial requisition order, while the other two faced «numerous and different» legal proceedings awaiting trial, as highlighted by the Torrejón de Ardoz City Council in a statement.

Another notable action by the municipality was the arrest of an individual accused of robbery with violence and intimidation, who was also carrying a large bladed weapon.

The suspect mugged a pizza delivery person as they exited a residence, threatening them with a knife. After the robbery, the victim contacted Local Police and recounted the incident, providing a description of the perpetrator, leading to their interception and arrest by the officers in the vicinity of the incident.

The Local Police of Torrejón de Ardoz also apprehended another individual caught red-handed committing a suspected burglary.

A resident alerted the officers after observing a suspicious person running across the rooftops of several buildings on the street.

Ultimately, the suspect was found hiding in a courtyard in the area and, after resisting arrest, was apprehended by the Police, who discovered stolen documentation in their possession.

Another intervention involved locating a suspect who had stolen a young woman’s purse and car keys, where they were caught by the Police.

The young woman stated that the perpetrator was her partner and had also assaulted her, a testimony corroborated by security cameras, leading to the arrest of the man.

In light of these events, the Mayor of Torrejón, Alejandro Navarro, emphasized that all these interventions simply underscore the commitment of the municipality through the Local Police to public safety, demonstrating effectiveness in the prevention of crimes.

He also emphasized the importance of citizen collaboration in «preventing robberies and apprehending thieves.»

Furthermore, the Security Councillor, Alberto Cantalejo, recalled that «preventive surveillance measures and the presence of officers on the streets continue to yield results and hinder criminal activities.»
