Las bibliotecas atendieron a más de 328.000 usuarios en 2024.

• During the year, over 120,000 loans and returns were processed, and more than 115,000 students made use of the study rooms.

• A total of 85,146 queries were addressed via phone, email, and in-person, along with the management of over 14,000 Digital Certificates.

• In 2024, the libraries organized a total of 290 activities with the participation of 26,459 people of all ages.

A total of 328,463 people, a number that grows each year and confirms its great acceptance among the residents, utilized the different services offered by the three municipal libraries of Las Rozas during 2024. The libraries of Las Rozas, Las Matas Marga Gil Roësset, and Leon Tolstoi, had the attendance of 115,458 students who came to the study rooms to prepare for their exams, thanks to the extended hours service during extraordinary openings, weekends, and holidays. Regarding the number of book and audiovisual loans and returns processed in the libraries, the previous year reached 120,183 operations. Noteworthy is the registration of 2,776 new readers in the unique library card system, reaching a total of 38,425 active readers.

Furthermore, a total of 85,146 queries (in-person, phone, and email) were handled at these three municipal facilities in 2024, and 14,183 Digital Certificates were processed.

The libraries of Las Rozas work daily with the aim of promoting reading. To achieve this, they have a diverse, updated, and continuously growing collection of nearly 235,000 documents, including 6,691 new items, three landmark buildings with 1,249 reading spots, and 5,947 m2 dedicated to service, which remained open for 286 days with library services last year.

Library Activities

The libraries offer a program of activities designed for all ages throughout the year: Story Time (with over 60 annual sessions and over 25 years of uninterrupted operation during the school year); Arts and Classical Music Workshops for children; Summer Workshops, Puppet Shows, User Training, Conferences, Book Tastings, Exhibitions, Literary Encounters, Bookmark Contests, Writing Workshops, Book Presentations, April Book Month, Book Fair, etc. A wide, dynamic, and diversified offering that in 2024 reached 290 scheduled activities with the participation of a total of 26,459 users.

We highlight the User Training Project in Libraries aimed at the Educational Centers of Las Rozas, which in 2024 received requests from 19 centers for the execution of 65 sessions of this training activity involving a total of 1,676 participants.

In addition to this activities program, the libraries also focus on maintaining the collection of documents they house to provide users with an attractive and up-to-date collection.
