Las Rozas ahorra más de 50.000 euros al año gracias al aprovechamiento de aguas subterráneas.
Las Rozas saves nearly 16,000 m3 of drinking water per year thanks to the new groundwater utilization system, equivalent to more than six Olympic swimming pools.
This measure will result in an estimated savings of 50,000 euros annually on the water bill and a step forward for environmental sustainability.
The mayor of Las Rozas, José de la Uz, visited the works on Kálamos street, a key point of the new groundwater utilization system, accompanied by the Councilor for Environment and City Services, Jaime Santamarta, and the Councilor for South District, Isabel Durán.

«This project is another step in our commitment to sustainability and efficient resource management. We leverage existing infrastructure, incorporate cutting-edge technology, and reduce the environmental impact of drinking water consumption,» stated De la Uz.
The city council has obtained authorizations from the Tajo River Basin Authority for the activation of three disused wells: Dehesa de Navalcarbón (almost 7,000 m3/year), Kálamos street (over 6,000 m3/year), and Espalmador street (over 2,000 m3/year).
The comprehensive renewal works of the electromechanical infrastructure are underway for their activation, with an investment of nearly 80,000 euros.

This system, inspired by fuel pump technology, enables remote monitoring, automatic report generation, and direct communication with the Tajo River Basin Authority.
In addition to the work on the boreholes, this technological solution is being replicated in the water loading points for street cleaning located on Castillo de Coca, Rosa de Lima, and Severo Ochoa streets.
