Los residentes de Batres denuncian un vertido ilegal

Enormous bags filled with clothes and shoes at the city entrance. The scene is residents of Batres last Friday. They reported this illegal dumping to the Civil Guard, done at the gates of one of the urbanizations and in the middle of an olive grove. To clean it up, the bags were opened and the clothes were scattered in the field.

On Buenos días Madrid, I spoke with Susana, one of the affected neighbors. «The bags were left a few days ago with olives and were sealed. But two or three days ago, someone ripped the bags open and left everything scattered across the field. We are afraid this will turn into a waste dump,» she reports.

Last Friday they found at the city entrance, at the gates of the Los Olivos urbanization, a pile of bags containing clothes and shoes. The mound of clothes is the size of a car and has started spreading through the nearby olive orchards.

The bags have a company name, but the neighbors believe this company is not responsible for the dumping. They have reported it to the Civil Guard for environmental crimes.

Identified three authors of illegal dumping on marine navy farms

The neighbors requested help from the City Hall, and although they were told there are no means to remove the bags, their mayor was on duty at Telemadrid to clear them this Friday. «Today we will make them disappear to avoid the so-called effect,» says Juan Carlos Alañón.

«This is the first time this has happened. There are indeed Shoes with your label,» he says. The councilor points out that they have already contacted the farm owner and reported it to the local police and the Civil Guard because «this environment is protected, as it belongs to the Guadarram Natural Park, in its middle course.»

The neighbors are eagerly awaiting the illegal dumping at the city entrance to be removed as soon as possible.
