Morante de la Puebla, Tomás Rufo y Alejandro Chicharro presentados por el alcalde de Móstoles
The mayor of Móstoles, Manuel Bautista, presented the bullfighting poster that will take place on June 15th at 7 pm in Las Ventas, featuring the bullfighter Morante de la Puebla.
«A legend in bullfighting that turns any poster into a masterpiece. Each pass by Morante is a lesson in art and personality,» said the mayor, pleased with the proposal that «brings together the past, present, and future of bullfighting.»
The municipality will host a bullfight with six bulls from the El Vellosino cattle ranch, known for the nobility of its bulls, after it could not be included in the May 2nd festivities as originally planned.

The City Council had initiated an open bidding process for the bullfight, reaching the stage of proposal award. However, the Administrative Tribunal of Public Procurement of the Community of Madrid later annulled the bidding process due to a third-party appeal that invalidated the solvency requirements for bidders in the tender document.
In compliance with the resolution, the procedure was abandoned, and it was announced that a contentious-administrative appeal would be filed as the agreement was deemed harmful and against the law. A new procedure has now been completed with a set date and poster.

In addition to Morante de la Puebla, Tomás Rufo, «one of the most established young talents who has demonstrated his skills in top arenas,» will also participate, as announced by Bautista.
This lineup will be completed by the bullfighter Alejandro Chicharro, «one of the most promising talents of the moment,» emphasized the mayor, highlighting that «his inclusion is not random: he is stepping in with strength, ambition, and freshness.»
During the bullfight presentation, Bautista was accompanied by Chicharro, journalist Beatriz García, and bullfighting entrepreneur Rafael Ayuso, where the mayor took the opportunity to defend bullfighting as an important part of the country’s identity and roots.

«Bullfighting is part of our history and traditions. In fact, many Spanish artists and writers found inspiration in bullfighting. Examples include García Lorca and his ‘Lament for Ignacio Sánchez Mejías,’ Goya and his prints ‘La tauromaquia,’ or Pablo Picasso, a bullfighting enthusiast who depicted bullfighting scenes in many of his works,» he explained.

They are also available for in-person purchase at Torrecilla cafeteria (2 de Mayo Avenue, 1) starting from June 9th, from 11 am to 2 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm.
