Presentación del laboratorio pionero de IA para transformar las visitas a museos
Thanks to this technology, based on generative AI, high-quality copies are created from images and videos. With its capture and processing system, it faithfully reproduces spaces and artworks with such precision that it seems as if one is walking among them.
The president attended a demonstration of this project developed by SperidLabs, allowing users to explore the rooms of all museums around the world that use this tool, observe artworks with astonishing detail, and even explore areas usually closed to the public from any location and digital device.
«Technology cannot replace human warmth, a timely hand, or personal attention, nor can it dehumanize, separate, or worsen us,» emphasized Díaz Ayuso. However, she expressed conviction that doing things right only generates opportunities.
In her view, this laboratory is an example of what can be achieved when talent, passion for culture, and a vocation for public service come together. «This is something we defend in the Community of Madrid because we believe in innovation with soul,» she added.
Immersive experience in Madrid museums
The regional government already offers this immersive experience in one of the most significant spaces of the cultural heritage of the Community of Madrid, the Casa Museo Lope de Vega in the capital. Soon, this technology will be used to visit the Museo Casa Natal de Cervantes in Alcalá de Henares and Velintonia, the home of Nobel Prize in Literature winner, Vicente Aleixandre, a key place for Spanish poetry of the 20th century, which was recently acquired by the Community of Madrid and visited by Díaz Ayuso.
Among its applications, the tool will help avoid overcrowding in museums through complementary visits to in-person visits, improve the conservation of artworks by reducing transfers, make pieces and areas usually unavailable accessible, and expand the audience and global impact of Madrid’s collections.
Accessible culture in hospitals as well
The regional president also highlighted the AyudARTE project, an initiative developed by SperidLabs in collaboration with the Spanish Association Against Cancer and the Godofredo Garabito and Gregorio Foundation, which will bring museums to hospitals.
Through this project, oncology patients can use virtual reality glasses to visit these spaces and observe artworks up close while receiving treatment at these centers. The 12 de Octubre public hospital will be the first in the Community of Madrid to implement this experience that humanizes hospital spaces through culture.
Additionally, Díaz Ayuso mentioned that the Madrid government will train 170,000 public employees in generative AI using Microsoft’s Copilot Chat tool to assist them in tasks such as searching for information in documents, writing complex texts, or summarizing extensive content. This will improve administrative efficiency and allow them to interact in a secure environment.
Furthermore, the Digitalization Department has established the Technical Office for the Promotion of Artificial Intelligence and launched the Madrid4AI brand to position the region as a global reference in AI and promote the attraction of talent and the arrival of new strategic investments.
