Reconocimiento por la labor en ciberseguridad del Ayuntamiento de Las Rozas
Yesterday, the Mayor of Las Rozas, José de la Uz, received the Medal of Merit in Cyberdefense, awarded by the Professional Association of New Technology Experts (PETEC) to recognize the work of those who help cybersecurity from their workplace.
During the award ceremony held at the Technology Security Center, De la Uz expressed gratitude for the award, acknowledging the work done by the City Council in «strengthening our cybersecurity systems and procedures, as well as raising awareness and promoting cybersecurity. Through the Local Police, we collaborate with educational centers to educate students and engage in various awareness and sensitization initiatives.»
In 2022, the Las Rozas City Council established the Information Security Committee to focus on cybersecurity tools, updating and enhancing network electronics, and enhancing the perimeter security of municipal systems. In 2023, the Security Operations Center was launched to oversee the centralized monitoring of all the information technology infrastructure of the City Council. Additionally, Las Rozas is part of the National Cybersecurity Operators Network, with very few other municipalities participating.
