Soto del Real modernizará su histórica estación de tren

The Soto del Real City Council has received the details of the project from Adif to transform the old train station in the municipality into a new Cercanías station that will be «modern, functional, and fully accessible», complete with an outdoor parking lot with over 500 spaces.

Mayor Noelia Barrado held a technical meeting with Adif representatives to analyze the details of this project, in which the railway company will invest 15.8 million euros as part of the extension of the C-4b line from Colmenar Viejo, currently under construction.

The project highlights the comprehensive restoration of the historic station building, built in 1955 and declared a Heritage of Cultural Interest, with works that will ensure the functionality of the new railway service and enhance «a key piece of local heritage, integrating history and modernity,» as explained by the City Council.

In this regard, they recall that they have been requesting meetings with the Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid for months to assess the inclusion of a new bus line that directly connects the station with the town center.
