Vecinos de Tres Cantos protestan nuevamente contra la planta de biogás de Colmenar Viejo

The neighborhood platform of Tres Cantos against the future biogas plant in Colmenar Viejo will hold a new demonstration this Saturday against the construction project of that infrastructure, considering that the plan involves «technical irregularities» and would entail «numerous health risks and environmental risks.»

The demonstration will start at 11:30 a.m. from Avenida de España in Tres Cantos and will conclude around 1:00 p.m. at Plaza de Antonio Gala, where a manifesto will be read, as indicated by the platform in a note.

The purpose of the meeting is for the thousands of residents of Tres Cantos and Colmenar Viejo who have been denouncing this infrastructure for months to take to the streets to show their rejection of «the opacity of the project and the health problems they believe the plant will bring to the more than 110,000 people living in the two municipalities.

In addition, the demonstration will have the participation of scientists, platform spokespersons, and neighborhood representatives, who will discuss the process after the march, they add.

The meeting has been organized under the slogan «Neither so big, nor so close,» as it demands that these projects of biogas and biomethane plants do not develop in any area close to residential populations.
