La Comunidad de Madrid ya cuenta con 7 solicitudes de ayudas para abrir establecimientos en pequeños municipios

The Community of Madrid launched a grant program of up to 10,000 euros two months ago to support the opening of new hospitality and retail establishments in municipalities with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants. Already, seven entrepreneurs have submitted applications to open a new business.

This Friday, the Minister of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, met with representatives of hospitality associations such as Hostelería de Madrid and Sierra Norte Gastronómica to discuss this new subsidy.

Rocío Albert: «While Sánchez has raised 100 taxes, the Community of Madrid has reduced 32»

Specifically, applications have been received for the opening of new establishments in Patones, Redueña, Robledillo de la Jara, Rozas de Puerto Real, Villavieja del Lozoya, and Navarredonda y San Mamés.

Although the grants can benefit businesses such as pharmacies or supermarkets, García Martín emphasized the importance of bars and restaurants, which play a «social role» in smaller towns.

He also expressed regret over the «dramatic» fiscal policy of the central government towards these establishments.

The president of Hostelería Madrid, José Antonio Aparicio, stated that «these grants are fantastic» and appreciated the recognition of the «social power» of these businesses in «cohesively» and «revitalizing» small municipalities. «If the bar closes, the town suffers,» he warned.

These grants, up to 10,000 euros for new establishments, are aimed at businesses that operate five days or more per week and are located in the 44 municipalities with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants in the region.

Additionally, grants of up to 5,000 euros are available for the maintenance of the 376 existing businesses with these characteristics.
