Más de 30 agentes especiales en el Plan de Seguridad para las Fiestas de Las Matas

• Se les sumarán los servicios ordinarios, hasta un total de 224 turnos especiales, y se superarán las 1.900 horas extra

• El SAMER y la Agrupación de Voluntarios de Protección Civil contarán con más de 30 personas movilizadas

• La criminalidad en Las Rozas disminuyó un 3% en 2024, frente al 0’3% de caída registrado a escala nacional

La Junta Local de Seguridad de Las Rozas se reunió esta mañana para analizar el dispositivo de seguridad y control durante las Fiestas Patronales de Las Matas, así como para dar a conocer los últimos datos de seguridad. El encuentro se produce con motivo del comienzo del programa que ha diseñado el Ayuntamiento de Las Rozas para celebrar San José Obrero, cuyos días grandes serán desde el 30 de abril al 4 de mayo.

La reunión estuvo presidida por el alcalde de Las Rozas, José de la Uz, y el delegado del Gobierno, Francisco Martín, junto con el jefe de Policía Local, Manuel López, así como la subdirectora general de Seguridad de la Comunidad de Madrid, Ofelia Ramírez; el teniente del Puesto Principal de la Guardia Civil en Las Rozas, Javier del Moral, and a representative from the Delegación del Gobierno. En cuanto al Gobierno municipal, asistieron el vicealcalde, Gustavo Rico; Enrique González (Hacienda y Fiestas), Ángel Luis Fernández-Polo (Presidencia) and the councilor of Infrastructures, José Cabrera.

During the meeting, attendees were able to learn and analyze some security data from the municipality for 2025, which, while not definitive, confirm the positive trend of decreasing crime from the previous year. In 2024, the municipality of Las Rozas experienced a 3% decrease, according to the total crime data provided in its annual report by the Ministry of the Interior. Compared to the total crime rate at the national level, which showed a decrease of 0.3%, the total number of offenses in the city decreased from 4,769 to 4,628 in 2024. As for the crime rate of the municipality, it is established at 46.9%, compared to the 56.6% average in the Community of Madrid in 2024. Additionally, there have been significant decreases in offenses such as robberies with violence and intimidation, with -53.8%; robberies with force in homes, establishments, and other facilities, -23.6%; and robberies with force in homes, with a -20.8%.

After the meeting, De la Uz wanted to express his gratitude to the Civil Guard and the Local Police «for their excellent work, collaborating on a security plan for the San José de Las Matas festivities that year after year demonstrates its effectiveness. To the point that last year not a single complaint was reported during all the days of the festivities, an achievement almost impossible to maintain. A success resulting from continuous effort, the provision of adequate resources, the reinforcement of staff, and the collaboration among the security forces. Thanks to this work, Las Rozas has established itself as one of the safest municipalities in the region and probably in Spain.»

In addition to outlining the Comprehensive Security Plan for the upcoming San José Obrero de Las Matas festivities and the celebration of Our Lady of Retamar, on Monday, May 5, attendees learned about reports of actions by the Civil Guard and Local Police.

The Comprehensive Security Plan for the San José Obrero and Our Lady of Retamar festivities will have a special service of 32 agents, to which all the ordinary police service will be added. It also includes the completion of 224 special shifts and over 1,900 extra hours to ensure the safety of residents and visitors between April 30 and May 4. Additionally, SAMER and the Volunteer Civil Protection Group will have 36 mobilized individuals each day of the festivities to ensure the attention of any incidents that may arise.
